Why do we stand up & click?

We stand and click for the retirees, who dedicated their lives to making this company successful, and walked many picket lines fighting for our benefits.  The company refuses to bargain their health care at a time when they need it the most, and can least afford it on their own.

We stand and click for our 19 Sisters & Brothers that today are retirement eligible, though they continue to service customers, and helped AT&T earn $12.9 Billion in 2008.  They also walked picket lines to fight for and protect our benefits, rights & wages.  They need affordable health care.

We stand and click for the 11 people that will be eligible to retire before the end of a new 5 year agreement, so they can have health care.  They also sacrificed on the line for us.  

We stand and click for those of us that can’t afford the cost of healthcare, high premiums, outrageous deductibles & co-insurance for ourselves & our families, when the company can clearly afford them based on 2008 profits, and dividend increases.

We stand and click for the 65 term employees, that we hope will become permanent with a tentative agreement and not have to worry where they will work, or how they will support their families in 1-3 years.

We stand and click for single parents & multi income families.

We stand and click for the grandparents raising their children’s children.

We stand and click to show our Strength & Unity.

We stand and click to draw management’s attention to our fight and show them we won’t back down.

We stand and click for the members that have yet to be hired.

We stand and click to protect ourselves & our families.

We stand and click for those of us that are not able to stand on their own. 

We’ll continue to stand and click every hour until we get the fair and equitable contract we need and deserve.
